We are excited that you have joined the Trojan Family and look forward to seeing you on your first day at USC! Before you begin, there are required steps for you to complete, to ensure that you will be set up and ready to participate fully during orientation.

Your first day has been designed to ensure that you have a smooth transition into your new role, and help you feel prepared and informed as you begin your career at USC.

Agenda
Your first day will be a full one. You will hear about the history and culture of USC, learn about benefit offerings and commute options, and more. All of which is designed to successfully transition you into your new role.

What to Bring
There are a few important items you need to bring with you on your first day.

Directions
Your orientation will be located on campus in the Tutor Campus Center (TCC). Please check your welcome letter to ensure you go to the right address on your first day.

Building on what was covered during your first day, your second day will encompass the following activities.

Meet Your Buddy
You buddy will be your point of contact for your first 90 days, providing assistance, insight, and information as you acclimate to the university.

Attend Meetings
Your second day will be full of making connections with everyone from your hiring manager to the IT department.

Take a Tour
Bring a comfortable pair of shoes to wear or to change into! As part of your onboarding experience, your second day will include a tour of campus as well as an introduction to your division/school.

Trainings
Complete the recommended trainings on TrojanLearn, Trojan Knowledge Expedition, Thrive 101, and more.

USC is committed to setting you up to become a successful member of the Trojan Family. We have designed a program for your first 90 days to set goals, review expectations, connect you with colleagues, and provide you with the resources needed to thrive in your new role.

New hire reception
Attend this breakfast reception to network with other new members of the Trojan Family on the first Friday following your date of hire. Check your email for more details.

Have weekly check-ins
In addition to weekly meetings with your manager, you will also be meeting weekly with your assigned buddy.

Experience USC
Fill up your passport by attending various events and programs.

Meet Our Leaders


Charles F. Zukoski

Dr. Charles F. Zukoski was appointed Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs on October 1, 2019. He holds the Shelly and Ofer Nemirovsky Provost’s Chair.

As the university’s second-ranking administrator, he oversees the Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, the Keck School of Medicine and 21 other professional schools and academic units, in addition to USC’s museums, and the divisions of student affairs, libraries, research, student religious life, and enrollment services.

Dr. Zukoski received his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Princeton University and his bachelor’s degree from Reed College. Zukoski served as Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University at Buffalo from 2012-2019.
