Personal Safety

USC has its own police/security force – the Department of Public Safety, known as DPS. DPS officers have a much quicker response time than most local law enforcement, so program these numbers into your phone: (213) 740-4321 - for emergencies or crimes in progress (213) 740-6000 - to report other crimes not in progress or other problems (for example, burglary or lockout)
